Wind Ratings and other Technical data for Street Pole Banners
At the Street Pole Banner Company, we print on 2 types of street pole banner materials: 18 oz blockout vinyl and 12.5 mesh blockout vinyl. Both of these materials are 100% made in the USA by Ultraflex Systems who have been trusted for years to produce the highest quality banner substrates for the sign industry.
These two materials were specifically designed for the lamp post banner application. They both contain blockout properties (to prevent shadowing of the graphic from one side of the banner to the other), embedded scrim (woven filaments within the banner material to prevent ripping) and perform in a wide range of weather conditions.
18 oz Blockout Vinyl for Avenue Banners
The 18 oz blockout vinyl is a heavy-duty avenue banner material specifically designed for the pole banner application. The heavy-duty vinyl allows for double sided printing without bleeding or shadowing of a graphic from one side of the banner to the other. The lamp post banner material also contains an 1000x1000 scrim embedded within the substrate. This scrim substantially increases the tensile strength in all directions which is important as lamp post banners are subject to highly unpredictable wind loads.
The lamp post banner material performs exceptionally in all weather conditions. With a cold weather rating of -22 F, you can be assured that your lamp post banners will not crack even on the coldest of winter days. This is an important consideration in colder, high elevation locations like mountain towns or ski resorts where nigh time temperatures drop and winds are high and unpredictable.
The 18 oz blockout vinyl avenue banner material has a matte finish and is water, mildew and mold proof aswell as fire resistant.
12.5 oz Blockout Mesh Vinyl for Lamp Post Banners
The 12.5 mesh blockout vinyl banner is engineered for the application of high-wind load street pole banners. This material is useful when printing very large (bigger than 30”x72”) lamp post banners or use in notoriously high-wind locations.
This unique avenue banner material allows for 35% wind blow through thereby significantly reducing the load o the banner, bracket system and lamp post. The block out mesh material is also printable on both sides and due to the substrate block out properties, shadowing from one side of the banner to the other is prevented.
The mesh lamp post banner material performs well in all weather conditions. With a cold weather rating of -30 C, lamp post banners will not crack even on the coldest and windiest winter days. The mesh street pole banner is often used in high altitude mountain towns and other notoriously windy and cold locations due to its cold-weather rating and high wind load reduction capabilities.
